Current Trade Minister: Lord Ikarus (Log in: Project Ikarus)
Just a step inside the civil building, Miss Molly Greyfeathers quickly directs visitors to the offices on the second floor. Climbing the stairs, the Trade Minister’s is the first door on the right, and the room opens to a spacious area with two desks.
Most of the walls are taken up by friendly, light-allowing windows, although there are lamps on the desks to suggest late nights rather often spent in the office. Against one wall is the bookshelf, populated by almost as many lawbooks as atlases and ledgers. Some of the taller books have been stacked- as before- on their sides on the bottom shelf, unable to stand upright on the shelf.
Nestled in the top right corner of the room, beside a globe and a bookshelf was the Trade Minister’s desk. Not likely to be mistaken for anything else, it often displays maps, as well as the ledger for which orders are written in. Occasionally there are stacks of books from the shelf on one corner of the desk, or notes written in blue or purple ink in hindi. Perhaps noticed, but often a detail that is overlooked, there is neither quill, charcoal, nor inkwell located on the desk when the Trade Minister is not currently in the office. Equally, there is a stand for a bird cage that is left unpopulated when the office is empty.
The ledger is always left open, and to the latest page, so that anyone who misses the odd-kept business hours of the Trade Minister might still get their orders in for the next ship.

What does the Trade Minister do? -
Due to its limited resources, the practice of trade is vital to the well being of everyone on the island up to and incuding the Lord Archmage himself.
Working in conjunction with the Lord’s favourite Demon-clan, The Breathstealers, the trade Minister is responsible for acquiring, at the lowest cost possible, the goods the island of Dandria’s Rest requires to run smoothly, healthily, and happily.
The trade minister will be working with the local shopkeeps to process and store their exports as well as seek out and process their imports.
In addition, the trade Minister will be managing the necessary trades in the diamond market for Spellcarver, constantly monitoring to ensure that this most important export is fetching the highest price possible.
The trade minister is also responsible for purchasing items that are needed on a civic scale be it from new cobblestones to chicken repellant.
Tariffs on exports and imports - at a steep rate of 4% - are also collected by the Trade Minister, with heavier fees levied against non-citizens making such requests of his time.
Granted to aid the Trade Minister with his duties, the Lord Spellcarver has offered him the use of the Atrox Ventus. Any movement on or off the island via said ship must be arranged through the Trade Minister, other Lords, and/or of course through the Archmage himself. A working vessel, not a cruise ship, its schedule is set by the island’s financial needs.
For anyone making requests to what they wish, There will be a book set up for them to write their requests down. That too, will be held in the shop, while the Trade Minister is away on travels. In that same clearly lined writing it states:
Please put name, name of shop, and the list of what you would like.~ H.L.
