Character's Login Name: Loize
Which Continuity are you applying for?
(Borentalon Estate, Darkhand Manor, Village of Nasmara): Village of Nasmara
Character's Species -
(If a race created by you/played differently than normal, please elaborate at the end of the form.):
Canine-Squirrel Hybrid, Anthro (More Canine than Squirrel)
Character's Age -
(Note appearance, actuality, and behavior, if different.):
Appears between 19 and 22, actual age: 23
Physical Description -
(This is what people see, as well as clothing currently worn):
Loize is a slightly tall, somewhat thicker build of an anthro-canine woman, with question arising as to whether she is purely canine, or a hybrid of some lesser blood. One would see a short but slightly unkempt tawny fur covering her body, with lighter tones and much shorter length around her hands, mouth, and torso. Ears are pointed in typical canine fashion, her muzzle shaped in a peculiar way which lends credence to her status as a hybrid. Her tail is incredibly fluffed, to the point of appearing to be more than twice it’s actual size, and it has light cream-colored hues to it. Hazel eyes are slightly almond-shaped, but with an oval curvature that is especially apparent when her eyes light up. Short-kept pale orange hair frames her face, and contrasts against an emerald-hued cloth collar around her neck. Small tufts of lighter fur puff out just above the chest, where five progressively smaller pairs of breasts are each wrapped together in a deep-green knit, one for each pair. Four of these tie in back and are held in place with very tight knots, and the top piece is held over her shoulders with a tie behind it as well. She wears an off-aqua colored skirt at most times, but is known to exchange the simple garment for those of other colors or to wear layers of skirts. Her footwear is simple, well-worn leather patched together with bits of cloth. Loize has made two other pairs of footwear for herself, which are mostly pieces of fabric sewn together and tied about the ankle. Many times, she prefers to go without protection on her feet. Loize has one piercing through her right ear, a large copper hoop with more of a gold coloration. When she is out on the town, Loize may be seen with a headband of the same deep green coloring as her tops, and a small necklace of twine with a mint-colored stone and two milky white stones on either side. She may also wear an overly large jade-colored bracelet and three gold colored hoops on either her right or left forearms, as well as three of the same hoops at her ankle. Loize has a large, copper ring with a jade colored piece set upon it, which she prefers to wear as a toe ring.
Loize takes on odd appearance when her wings are shown, a part of her that she cannot control at all. The wings are triggered to retract and come out for any number of uncertain reasons, and they appear as multi-colored pixie wings. She has a larger top pair and a slightly smaller lower pair. The wings seem to be of a smooth glass-like material, and are barely flexible enough to bend slightly. When they are not shown, Loize’s wings have reverted back into pure magical energy, stored in a pair of odd artifacts within her. These were implanted by someone during an event which Loize does not care to force herself to remember. The wings, and the artifacts within her, do not give Loize any magic ability whatsoever.
Magical items/Powers -
(Describe any and all items/powers which may be used in rp, including things inherent to your character’s species):
Nautilus Artifacts
Implanted by a well-known mage of her homeland, these faulty items resemble tiny brown nautilus shells. They are a pair implanted just below and to the inner sides of her shoulder blades, and contain a mixture of the lower states of fire and light elemental energies. The nautilus-like artifacts are enchanted specifically to release a portion of their magic as pixie-like wings. The reasoning for this was lost to Loize when she fled her homeland, as it had become apparent that she was meant for something more and would be forced into finding out what that was. Regardless, the malfunction of the enchantment means that Loize cannot control the artifact being active or not. Considering that it has been six years since she fled Agnen, Loize is comfortable with the belief that she is not being tracked down. (And that is the truth.) The artifacts do not give her any magical abilities whatsoever, because they are faulty. Furthermore, if one were to remove them, it would only mean physical damage to Loize in the process of removing them, and her wings would no longer be a part of her. She could wear different tops then! (This is actually something Loize may want to look into in the future, of course it would require a great deal of trust towards whomever would remove the tiny artifacts.) If they were removed, one would simply find them to contain a small amount of the lower states of elemental light and elemental fire magical energy. The amount of magic in them is modest at best, and because the enchantment on the artifacts is faulty, there really is no point in recovering them except if one were to wish to learn such a strange enchantment for giving someone magical wings.
Restorative Magics
Minor Healing - Weak skill
Loize can tend a nick or minor cut, and help scrapes on their way to healing. Loize is also capable of relieving (but not healing) minor burns and small abrasions, but otherwise has almost no skill in this area whatsoever. Loize therefore doesn’t use this spell often, and when she does it is often to relieve where she touched a hot pan or the like. She can normally use the spell twice before requiring a recharge time of three to five minutes.
Illusionary Light Magics
Sun Spot - Intermediate skill
This spell casts a concentrated orb of magical light in front of one’s eyes, the more concentrated it is, the more radiant. It takes time to build up it’s concentration and radiance, and this spell has a high probability of fizzling out once nearing ten seconds. Loize rarely ever has to use the spell that long, usually a two or three second burst is sufficient to make someone turn away from the light source or move around it, or whatever have you. However, even a few seconds of this spell causes Loize to require a recharge time of at least ten minutes, and should she concentrate the spell for up to ten seconds, it would take her a couple hours to regain her magical energies.
Dance of Rays - Weak skill
A spell which simply sends off iridescent lines of light in random directions. At the level Loize is capable of casting it, it is meant as a very momentary distraction and takes very little energy. If she were to try to build the spell, it would either fizzle out rather quickly and dissipate without doing anything but leaving a fading glow, or it would overcharge and send multiple lines of light out in many uncontrolled directions. This would leave Loize almost completely drained of magic energy for a good half hour or so. Because of this, it is not a spell that Loize prefers to use except if absolutely necessary for her survival and/or safety. When she casts it normally, at a lower level, she can use the spell up to three times before requiring a recharge of five minutes, or up to five times requiring a recharge of ten to fifteen minutes.
Mystical Arts
Tarot Reading - Moderate skill, improving
Though not as methodic and quite unorthodox about the entire process, Loize has learned two basic folds in reading her deck of cards. She charges a fee for this service, as there are not many who practice. Furthermore, Loize has found that allowing herself to be the only one to touch her deck seems to bring good luck in her readings. Loize is not always able to read each card entirely accurately, and her own biases play an influence on what she chooses to tell and not to tell. Even so, the outcome is almost always pretty reliable, and Loize believes strongly in the process of Tarot reading. An unknown fact to her about this skill, is that if someone does touch her deck, it will become difficult for her to read the cards accurately and bring bad luck for at least four to six days.
Observation of Signage - Weak skill
Loize has became aware of certain spiritual signs that would occur on a day to day basis in her life. However, these signs are so miniscule and relevant to what she is doing, that Loize typically just brushes them off. Even when she correctly and accurately interprets the signs, they are normally nearly inconsequential except in altering her view of a particular situation or an individual in her life. The change would not be so drastic, more like a gut feeling that she should be cautious about the wares this person is selling today, as an example. The signage for that could simply be a metalworker dropping a particular piece they were working on at a very certain moment. Loize is highly sensitive to the timing of the sign’s occurrence. Of course, much of these observations could be explained by others as that she is crazy, and so she never speaks of them.
Current Occupation and Life Goal -
(What do they do? What do they want?):
Loize currently gets by through various means, she will sing and dance on the street side seeking whatever the people may offer, and also will peddle off some jewelling crafts as she is able to come across the materials for them. Loize has become known as the local tarot reader, although it is a new skill to her. Her goal in life for now is simple survival, and she has mostly given up the dream of finding love and eventually raising children. In the future, she may seek to take on an apprentice to her craft, if it develops further, and most certainly she will someday seek an apprentice to her tarot readings.
Sample RP Post -
(If you need a prompt, pretend your character has encountered a chicken that doesn’t move out of the way when it is approached):
Loize was walking between the town of Averrawn and Alston, more than halfway along the path back home. It had been a successful day, as the larger town’s blacksmith had a new lady in his sights, one who was all too willing to partake in Loize’s offer for a reading. In exchange, of course, for more of those useful little brass bangles, and a good length of copper wiring to boot! Her stomach growled as she beamed in the late afternoon sunlight, forcing her to forget the fruition of the day rather quickly. She scowled, making a face as she rubbed her side, ‘What I wouldn’t give for just a small meal at the tavern…’ She had been refused service in Alston, the owner of that establishment had seen enough of Loize’s occasional bouts and wily charms. Truth be told, she had been quite a fool to think she could continue to carry on such a debt-forming habit for so long, and charm her way out of it as well. She shook her head, trying to shoo the thought away. And that was when her world started to change.
At first, Loize thought she must not have stopped shaking her head. But when she had stopped moving altogether and her vision was still seemed to shift the world out of order, Loize panicked. She ducked, holding her arms over her head in a protective fashion and squeezing her eyes shut as best she could. After a few long moments of this, there was a snicker. She dared to open one eye, and found herself in the strangest of towns she had ever laid eyes upon.
